Alarm phrases was created by NNP

Hey all, This is mostly for betrayed spouses but any cheaters inputs are welcome...What phrases or excuses did your partner use that set off any internal warning bells for you? For me personally, if I hear "He's just a friend" or "I need space", it immediately triggers a warning for me. My wife used "he's just a friend" constantly...come to find out it was quite more than that. Just curious....

My husband has an inappropriate relationship (not exactly an affair, just inappopriate) with a woman who I've met on occasion. He says that she's weird, things like that. So your spouse might talk about the other person in similar terms, trying to insinuate that he doesn't like him or that something about him annoys or bothers her, sort of a way to throw the scent off.

Oh yeah, I have heard some of these before. Like I found emails my boyfriend was talking nasty to a girl that goes to his gym. When I asked him about her he'd say" She's fat and ugly". But when asked about the emails he said he was leading her on. I found out he targeted girls that weren't the prettiest, because he knew they had low self-esteem. I call him a narcissist.

LOL, big yes to all of the above.

And another good one: Whenever I caught him in a lie or keeping nasty secrets: I didn't tell you (for instance being in contact with my ex daily), because I knew you'd over-react and be jealous

uh, just remembered another really good one....not very clever, cause quite obvious what his intentions were, but....

"no of course not, I'm not her type - she likes nerdy guys"

or another one (which didn't set off my alarm bells):

"you have a sick mind; I'd never do anything with someone young enough to be my daughter" - that was before I found out that she had rejected him and that he'd slept with someone even younger than her

think we all feel pretty naive sometimes, ey ;))
